2021 ANITA BRANNON.jpg

President Anita M. Elliott Brannon

Anita Brannon is actively involved in the Hattie Davis Women’s Missionary Society of the Union A.M.E. Church in Little Rock, AR, where she serves as the unit leader for the Louise T. Clark Unit. Additionally,  she is the local Director of Christian Education.

Anita’s passion is family in general, and the clergy family in particular.  She is  President of the Connectional A.M.E. Ministers’ Spouses, Widows’ organization.  She currently serves as the Commissioner of the Connectional Tanner-Turner Memorial Commission.

Mrs. Brannon is a life member in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and a member of Beta Pi Omega Chapter.  For 4 years, she served on the Chaplaincy Committee for the South-Central Region of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.  In  November of 2020, she was elected Vice President of  Beta Pi Omega Chapter  of Alpha Kappa Alpha in Little Rock, AR.

Anita is the mother of 2 young adults -  Eugene Elliott Brannon and Eugenia Michelle Brannon, and is the widow of Presiding Elder Eugene Brannon. As a widow Sister Anita’s desire is to be inclusive of all areas of the Clergy Family; to make sure that active, retired and those who are widow/widowed are recognized.  Most importantly, it is important that our PKs are included, and that they know that we acknowledge and appreciate the sacrifices they make supporting their clergy parents.

Her favorite scripture, and one she strives daily  to live by is Micah 6:8,

“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God”.
